# Install or retry apps on existing Linux VMs

> How app installation works after VM creation and what to do on failures.

On a Linux VM detail page, the Application card lets you:

* install an app when none is installed,
* see current app status (for example installing, installed, failed),
* retry installation if status is failed.

If an endpoint URL is available, it is shown with a quick open action.
