# Create your first server

> Step by step through the checkout flow from region selection to invoice.

Open Dashboard and go to Servers -> New Server.

1. Select a Region. If a location has no stock, plans in that location can show as sold out.
2. Select an Image (operating system).
3. Optional: Select an Application. Marketplace apps are available only for Linux images.
4. Select a Size (plan).
5. Select a Billing Cycle.
6. Optional: Set a Server Name.
7. Optional (Linux without app): Attach an SSH key.
8. Optional: Apply a coupon code in the order summary.

When you click Create Order, exy.sh creates an order and an invoice and redirects you to the invoice page.

Important: A VM is provisioned only after the invoice is paid.
